Parts & Acc. : Radiator Guards

Cox Racingroup radiator guards are made to protect vulnerable Radiators and Oil Coolers from all types of debris found on the street or track. First made for protection when other racers and/or you had an off track adventure only to return to the track with sticky tires covered with rocks and tar balls causing damage to the radiator or oil cooler. Resulting in minor damage such as plugged or bent fins to major ride ending punctures in the radiator or oil coolers, this can cause fluids to cover the tires and possibly initiate a wreck, or at the worst overheating and engine damage. It can end the race and/or your journey.

If damaged, new radiators are only available from the factory dealers. There are no aftermarket radiator alternatives for most Sport bikes on the market. Replacement cost is high and the parts will most likely need to be special ordered from the factory. The end result is down time, Missed Races, Track days and rides.

Andrew Cox first found a need to protect the radiators on his endurance racing team bikes. Soon after, other teams including Factory Yamaha, Corona Suzuki and Honda Race Teams noticed his radiator guards and asked him to supply guards for all their race team sport bikes. Cox Racingroup offers guards for all major brands of race, sport and sport touring motorcycles.

In business since 1998 Cox Racingroup now supplies many factories, privateer, club and track day racers and riders with protection to make it home or to the finish line without ending their ride. Street riders who deal with a much higher degree of hazards have asked us to provide Cox Radiator Guards for street use as well.

We build the guards using aluminum then folded with directional expanded aluminum screen for a desired balance of protection, durability and light weight ride. The guards are also available by special order with Titanium expanded metal, Known as our pro guard. Which is in use by top level race teams both national and international championship levels.

Installation is very simple on most models. High grade foam pads are mounted to the back of the frame for an area of separation between the guard and the radiator core. Approximately 5mm of a "crush zone" is generated by these pads to absorb the medium to large impacts. The guards are mounted so it can float on the pads and not pick up vibrations from the bike or ground. Proper mounting varies bike to bike and brand to brand specified in the instruction kits provided. They are easy to clean and easily removable for deep removal of bugs and other debris. The guards really look great in any color and compliment the sometimes less than attractive radiator/oil cooler cowl area.
